February KAL

Remember last month when we hinted that we had something fun coming for the sock knitters in the crowd? Well here it is! Welcome to the Sock of the Month! We will be choosing a fun sock pattern each month that highlights something special… a new yarn, a unique technique, fun textures or construction methods. Hopefully this offers up some new inspiration for seasoned sock knitters and possibly even motivates some of you to try knitting your very first pair!
The Sock of the Month for February is the Spiral Splash Sock by Stephen West. These top-down socks showcase marled and self-striping yarns beautifully! Choose one main color plus one ball of self-striping yarn and enjoy the easy to knit slip stitches and stripes. There are five sizes to choose from with notes on how to customize the leg and foot to perfectly fit your feet. The pattern includes video links to help you with any special techniques from casting on to working the heel flap and knitting jogless stripes. The right and left sock spiral in different directions to form mirror images socks. They are wearable works of art for your feet!

New Yarn Alert!
Noro Yarns just came out with a new yarn named SAIUN and we have five lovely colorways to choose from. It’s DK weight and comes in 450 m balls. We think this would be gorgeous in a colorwork yoke, or patterns like the Alexia that was featured on the front of the most recent Noro Magazine.
The second new yarn that came in this month is DREAM DK from Plymouth Yarn Co. We are picturing this one in gift knits for little ones!
